Marketplace Fee Comparison Calculator

Compare estimated per-order platform fees and contribution profit using the same product economics. Adjust each platform's assumptions to match your seller account.

Product and order assumptions

This shared model excludes sales tax from revenue. Enter the seller-paid fulfilment/shipping cost once. If buyer-paid shipping is part of the fee base, add it to sale price or adjust the platform fee base accordingly.

Platform fee assumptions

All fee inputs are editable. Defaults are simplified examples, not guaranteed current rates. Amazon uses an illustrative 15% referral assumption with a $0.30 minimum; Etsy includes illustrative transaction, payment-processing and listing assumptions; Shopify plan allocation is entered separately above.

Extra fee lets you add an estimated per-order cost such as listing renewal, category surcharge, creator commission or other program fee. Avoid double-counting costs already included elsewhere.

Estimated results

Estimated contribution = sale price − platform fee − product cost − fulfilment − advertising/creator cost − other variable cost − allocated monthly overhead. This is not accounting, tax or payout advice.

How to use this comparison

  1. Enter one product's selling price and landed cost.
  2. Enter the seller-paid fulfilment and acquisition costs.
  3. Adjust each platform's percentage and fixed fee to the exact category, plan and country.
  4. Compare contribution profit, not just the headline platform commission.
